Bombay to Barcelona Library Café …With Art By Vinita.

Why I contribute a part of my art proceeds to a café that works for the development of street kids.

Street kids are often left behind by society. They are forced to find their own way in life.

There is a café “Bombay to Barcelona” https://en.iambecauseofyou.com/ that is trying to help change this. The café is run by a group of street kids who have been given a safe place to work and learn. In addition to providing a place for the kids to work, it also raises money to help support other street kids in the area. I was impressed by this café and its dedication to helping street kids. The café contributes to their development in the following ways.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING.

Training skills for practical experience related to hospitality are given to the youth. Sponsoring educational activities or training courses as per their curiosity and interest levels and they adjust their working hours to balance their work and studies.

ACCOMMODATION FOR THE HOMELESS YOUTH

During their stay in the Project, they are guaranteed a decent home through shared apartments while guiding them for self-management, personal care, and hygiene. This way they are like a large family.

FOOD FOR THE UNDERNOURISHED CHILDREN

Free meals are offered to the street children or slum children who show up at and stop by the café.

A portion of the proceeds goes to this café. Amin Sheikh is the founder and the café is his dream come true. I got the idea for this project after visiting the café in person. It’s an amazing place, I was impressed by this café, its warmth, and its dedication to helping street kids, and I am  proud to support this worthy cause.
