Painting On Canvas (Beginners Tip)

Spread the love

When you’re ready to start painting, you might be unsure of what materials you need to get started. While it’s good to experiment with different techniques and styles, this is something that all painters whether you work in acrylics, or oils must have. So here’s a little tip for you.

If you have just started off and you love painting on canvas, which is mostly used as a painting surface my advice to you would be to buy canvas pads. These pads contain cotton canvas that has been primed, cut into sheets, and bound into pads. If you have created a finished artwork that you wish to frame, it can be framed in the same way as stretched canvases or canvas panels.

I too started painting on these when I began as a student and continue to use them for my studies.

Attaching a recent little study here, I did a while ago.

Well for those who don’t know her, she is my mom!! Just captured her buying some fruits for me the other day. Carefully making sure that she chooses the best ones from the lot.

Did a quick blocking of paint to make this memory permanent on my little piece of canvas.

Holding it in my hands to give the sense of how tiny it is.

However, I buy these in many sizes, and whichever size, I choose to work on for that study I begin with masking the sides with a two-inch tape, in case I wish to give it for framing.

Hope this little tip is helpful .Do continue visiting www.artbyvinita.com for many more.

Love Vinita.
