When asked to describe in one word, what pops up in my mind is love for the hues of reds in the flowers depict a heart, which when in love swirls just like how these poppies sway with the wind. This effect when in contrast with a view of the a setting sun perfectly reminds you of your valentine. A painting just about affection, let it be your perfect gift!
In the quiet corners of our busy lives, love finds its strength not in grand gestures but in the simple act of truly listening. Imagine a love tree, its roots deep and unwavering, thriving because it embraces the whispers of the wind and the gentle caress of the rain. This tree stands tall not by resisting but by absorbing the elements around it.
In relationships, listening is akin to nourishing the soil of this love tree. When your dear one voices their concerns, it is not an act of complaining but a plea to be heard and understood. Complaints are not expressions of dissatisfaction; they are expressions of a deep desire to maintain harmony and connection.
They are the words of someone who cares deeply, seeking reassurance that their feelings matter, and their voice is valued.

Defensive walls, built in haste, block out the light and stifle growth. But when we respond with understanding and compassion, we nurture the roots of our love, allowing it to grow stronger and more resilient. As I sat down to describe my painting, it reminded me of this beautiful poem by Rumi, and I couldn’t write anything more than this. It goes “Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and right doing, there is a field. I’ll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass,
The world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase “each other” doesn’t make any sense.
The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you.
Don’t go back to sleep.
People are going back and forth across the doorsill where the two worlds touch.
The door is round and open.

Melody is a return to a color scheme that feels like home—a palette,
I’ve explored in two earlier paintings that now belong to collectors.
There’s a unique allure to its smoothness, a harmony in its tones that
seems to resonate deeply with everyone who sees it. As an artist, I
find myself drawn back to these colors, compelled by their quiet
charm and the way they effortlessly flow together. Painting Melody
was like revisiting an old favorite song, familiar yet always new, and I
hope its rhythm speaks to you as it does to me.
An artist complimented the painting by saying it had a lyrical feeling to it and that’s when I named this mood. The mood of this piece has a beautiful rhythmic energy to it. The trees happen to be dancing to the silent tune within and the sparkling water bears witness to it. It‘s a beautiful painting which will set up the mood of the place to liveliness and joy.

Life, is a struggle at times. However, if a couple like the one
in this painting decide to work through the complexities of life sharing the burden together,
even the most difficult path can seem easier and lighter.
Love is a choice, and it’s all about hanging in there. It is not glamorous and impervious
to emotional whims and fancies. It is about caring enough.
Find a way to make it happen, and sure it will.
