One of my favorite watercolor artists is Alvaro Castagnet. I have been fortunate to have taken two of his workshops. I took this photo during a workshop in Bend, OR and it made me laugh as soon as I saw it! I will be taking a workshop from him in Tucson next month, so I’m hoping to learn a lot and come away with a few masterpieces of my own!

This last weekend was spent in heaven, or close to it! I led a painting retreat in the beautiful home of Art & Barbara Linnemeyer. Their home is nestled in a incredible forest in Southern Oregon. Everywhere you look inside or out is a place of beauty and tranquility.
A BIG THANK YOU to Barbara for her fabulous meals, Art for putting up with 9 women in his home and for keeping the house warm, Carrie for her behind the scenes clean up, Heather for her inspirational presence and her flan, Cousin Kay for sharing her beautiful calligraphy techniques, and last but not least, the soon-to-be-famous trio of Art, Heather and Adam for the concert!
