Sketch for Fish Market, Athens

An artist friend of mine says that an artist’s newest painting is always the favorite, until the next one comes along. Does that mean artists are fickle?! I have to say, my most recent painting, Fish Market, Athens is my favorite and it may stay that way for some time! This was fun to paint and a joy to add in the woman in red and all the background characters. I wish every painting could go so well.

UVAA Summer Arts Festival

My booth at Summer Festival I had a great time at this year’s Summer Arts Festival! The weather was wonderful and attendance was great. It was fun to see friends & collectors that I haven’t seen since last year. I met a lot of really great people and sold several paintings.

I was set-up right next to Dale Kurtz and the rest of my ‘art family’; Art & Barbara Linnemeyer and Kay Beckham. The Linnemeyer family provided entertainment for us behind our booth spaces complete with vocals, guitars and even an upright bass. We will all be at the Albany festival in August, so I’m looking forward to the family reunion!

‘Lunch, Oakland, OR’ Watercolor Painting

[SinglePic not found]I just finished this painting and I’m happy with the way the people turned out. This painting is of an alley in Oakland, Oregon. In the original scene, there was a table and chairs, but no people to pose for me, so I had to improvise! I’m also happy with some of the texture I achieved in the walls of the buildings.
